(EMAILWIRE.COM, February 06, 2013 ) Las Vegas, NV -- A new photography company has announced plans to re-introduce the use of retro photography equipment. They’ve been using some retro equipment for their individual endeavors, and as such, they have made a business out of it. They say that they’re “not averse to new mediums, but that [they] feel as if [they’re] providing something charming that modern photography doesn’t readily provide.” They claim to understand the limitations of retro gear, but they also think that they are making a point with their work. And according to the owner, “it’s a point that should have been made a really long time ago.”
“Look; photography is getting better everyday. We get that. We also get that people are starting to get crazy about the gear they’re carrying, when it should be more on the quality of the work. We hope that we’re sending a message to the other guys, like, ‘Hey, we’re doing more with less.’ It’s never been about what you’re carrying, but it’s always been about whether you can shoot or whether you can’t. Nothing has changed in that regard, and if you’re a good photographer, you should be able to prove it with ‘inferior’ equipment. I’m sacrificing a lot more than clarity, but I also think that people are still enjoying the pictures we’re taking. That’s because they’re really good, though.”
The company states that while theyÂ’re not using their retro gear for paying customers unless they specifically ask for it, theyÂ’re definitely doing so with a lot of their personal projects - especially those that theyÂ’ll know will get some publicity. They say the project will last indefinitely, as they canÂ’t see themselves using highly-advanced tools for the foreseeable future.
