(EMAILWIRE.COM, December 20, 2012 ) Austin, TX -- More Texas consumers were interested in Modular Homes in 2012 than 2011. A report release from Modular Homes Network showed almost an 8% increase in people inquiring into their options for building a new home in Texas. The report showed that searches were strongest in the Austin, San Antonio, Houston and Dallas markets but an increase overall for the state. In general, the amount of interest has been down significantly since the surge of the building boom, but the trend in growth for Modular Construction and the advantages of off-site construction is again peaking consumerÂ’s interest.
ModularHomesNetwork.com is focused on educating consumers on the advantages offered by Modular Housing. The revolution of the modular construction method means that consumers can have a better built, lower cost home option build in the climate controlled settings of a factory that is then delivered to a building site on a faster schedule then a site built home. The advantages in technology, quality and flexibility of design offered by modern modular construction techniques are changing the way consumers approach looking for their next new home.
Look at some of the facts:
• Modular homes are constructed in an environmentally protected factory under modern manufacturing control. The quality control methods of modern assembly lines and the technological precision from modern CAD construction can now be applied to home construction. A better built, quality controlled home is now available to builders and homeowners alike.
• The cost savings can be significant, up to 30%. The benefits of a modern assembly line, low waste construction methods, reusable designs, and bulk material buy savings contribute to bring down the costs for the new modular home buyer.
• Modular homes offer shorter, more predictable building schedules. No more horror stories of contractors disappearing in the middle of the job. When their home is constructed, it is on a set schedule from the factory. When it is delivered to their home site, it can be weather tight the same day. The amount of effort to finish and move in is minimal on many homes. The time and stress saved can be immeasurable.
• Modular homes are not mobile homes. They do not have wheels, they cannot be moved once secured to the site and they do not fall apart when the first wind comes through. They are built to their states UBC building codes and look like every other home in the neighborhood.
What modular homes do offer is a great way to build their own home in an economically fashion and in the manner they desire. It provides them a way to build, even during inclement weather when all other construction has stopped, and it allows them to be the deciding factor as to when they want to move. With interest rates so incredibly low, and the slow season approaching for builders, no one should pass this opportunity of a lifetime.
Much of the Southwest showed similar patterns of increase interest in Modular Housing. Interest in other areas also included growth in Multi-family modular, Green Modular and Custom Modular Home designs. California, Arizona, New Mexico and Colorado all showed strong growth for 2012.
