(EMAILWIRE.COM, March 29, 2013 ) PHOENIX AZ – A car-pedestrian accident occurred on Tuesday at a West Valley bus stop killing two people and injuring one.
Numerous passengers traveling on the bus witnessed the accident and reported the truck came out of nowhere. The driver literally skidded between the bus and the bus stop where two individuals boarding the bus were struck, while the other managed to jump out of the way.
One of the individuals struck died instantaneously, while the second was flown to a nearby hospital and died during surgery. The driver admitted to minor drug use, as investigators suspected also reported there was some indication that he was under the influence.
The driver, who was driving on a suspended license, is now being charged with two counts of manslaughter, one count of aggravated DUI, and one count of aggravated assault.
