(EMAILWIRE.COM, March 29, 2013 ) San Francisco, CA -- Google recently announced it has redesigned the Google Analytics' social report to provide more clear-cut reading for publishers to note when they receive inbound links from sites. The update is making it easier to track just how people are engaging with the publisher's content through the new DataHubActivity Report. Google Analytics' Social Data Hub is getting the data from partner sites that include Reddit, Dig, and other commentary systems such as Echo, Livefrye and so forth.
The Data Hub Activity report works as a standalone service that is providing publishers with a “timeline of the number of activities that have occurred in the Social Data Hub and the raw activities in a list below” says Google.
Social Hub data has already been available prior to the standalone, but it was considered rather buried within Google's Analytics' social reports. Given the new standalone, data is more easily accessible and noted, and integrating the Analytics Social Data Hub will be much more enticing for companies that operate social networks and other platforms. With more analytics, the users will be aware of it and be able to ask for such integration so they can track their overall engagement with social engagement data found in a single space.
Statistics about trackbacks are also to be made more readily available, as before they were more difficult to analyze. Now they are available in a standalone report for ease of analysis and use. The new report now provides more context and direct data, according to Google, who states the data is “for the significance of each of these trackbacks by displaying the number of visits that were driven by each endorsing URL during the reporting period.”
