(EMAILWIRE.COM, March 17, 2013 ) San Clemente, CA -- In a majority of marriage bureaus in Islamabad and Rawalpindi there are reports of unfair usage of tactics that extract maximum tallies of revenue from those citizens who are having trouble finding suitable matches for their children. The troubles often stem from both financial and social constraints.
Citizens have now demanded that the government ought to take a more stern action against the marriage bureaus within the twin cities, as individuals are openly cheating people in order to gain revenue.
Ayesha Qasim, who is the mother of a girl who is having aforementioned troubles, commented on the issue and told APP that many people are cheated in the same of social services. The result is often without a positive outcome and with a loss of money as well.
“I paid a lot of money to so called marriage bureaus, but till today, never got any response from them. These bureaus would always tell you that these matters “take time,”she added.
Asim Qureshi, another upset citizen, stated that the bureaus approach their customers offering attractive theoretical offers. They ask for individuals to fill out forms of registration and take their money and never send any of the registrations away.
The marriage bureau which operates in Islamabad charges nearly Rs 3,000-5,000 for matches, while inter-city matches can be as high as 10,000. International matches can be as high as 30,000.
“Mostly, either middle class or overseas Pakistanis contact marriage bureaus. These ingenious matchmakers exploit such people to the hilt,” lamented a victim of a matchmaker.
“I submitted Rs 5,000 registration fee with a marriage bureau and they promised to find an excellent match for my daughter. After taking the money, they even refused to recognize me. That’s quite unfair,” Mrs. Mukhtar alleged.
