According to the infographic, the salary average ranges from $35,020-$44,690 depending upon position gained. In may of 2010, the median across all LPN/LVN positions within the United States reached $40,380, or $19.42 per hour.
OnlineLPNPrograms.net noted that the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics stated that the change of employment from 2010-2020 would be 22% and 26% in the LPN/LVN and Health Technologists and Technicians positions respectively. The Bureau's statistics also noted that there was a predicted 14% overall turnover across the board in the healthcare positions.
The work of an LPN/LVN can be a challenging, yet rewarding, position according to the infographic, which notes the many functions of the position. Working nights, weekend, and holidays, including double-shifts is included in the necessary functions of the positions. Assisting patients in all aspects, and being a monitor of overall health for patients, as well as the ability to discuss proper action with both doctors and patients are important capabilities of a nurse as well. There are also plenty of occupational hazards with the job, all fueled by want to truly help individuals that need it.
