Great Success Has Not Changed Minecraft Creator reports Minecraft Free For

(EMAILWIRE.COM, February 16, 2013 ) San Francisco, CA -- According to the Creator of Minecraft, being rich is simply weird.

The developer of the hit game Minecraft, Markus Persson, has described being a multi-millionaire simply by stating it is “weird”.

Persson, also known as Notch, was questioned on various aspects of the earning of the block mining and building game on the social media site, Reddit. The Minecraft company Mojang stated it sold 15 million copies of Minecraft in 2012, netting a tally of £57 million. Perrson noted that he planned on using his wealth to assists his family, charities, and campaign groups.

After the full version of Minecraft was released for PC, priced at £17.95 in 2011, over 20 million copies of the game have been sold. The game currently has an active following of 40 million in total.

Details of Mojang's earnings have emerged in a Swedish tech news release/website it24. In 2012, Mojang's turnover was £149 million, which it turned a £57 million profit from. Most of that profit went to Persson himself. In 2011, the creator shared about £2.7 million of the profit with Mojang's 29 employees.

While answering questions on the social media site, Persson stated that he did not “mind having loads of money” but it had not changed his life much.

"I still like playing games and programming, and once I had the latest computer and consoles, there really isn't much more to spend the money on [other] than traveling," he said.

He said: "For me, this includes charities that help children, and charities that help promote freedoms I think are vital in the coming dozens of years, such as the EFF [Electronic Frontier Foundation]."

Despite these good works, Mr Persson said he was using some of the cash to indulge himself.
"I definitely spend money on totally useless things," he said. "I won't burn all my money on that, though. There's so much more to do."
