Bearman Golden Gardens, Inc. – Provides reasonably priced one bedroom apartments for independent seniors ages 62 years and older. Residents must meet income eligibility requirements.
Foster Care Program – Goodwill Homes Community Services’ accredited foster care program provides a positive and supportive family setting to children who are unable to live at home. The program offers intergenerational activities and counseling on individual, group and family levels. Additionally, crisis intervention services are available 24/7.
Head Start Program – Provides comprehensive pre-school services for children, including those with disabilities, between 3-5 years of age. Parents are encouraged to participate in a variety of activities geared toward the whole family. Head Start also ensures that physical health, mental health, nutrition assessment, dental exams, vision and hearing screening and other services are provided on an as needed basis. Participants must meet federal income guidelines.
Jacqulyn Shropshire Learning Center – The Jacqulyn Shropshire Learning Center offers literacy programs and assistance with math, reading, language, computer literacy, problem solving and GED preparation.
Senior Citizens Center/Adult Day Care Program – This program provides a stimulating environment for individuals, 55 years and older, to socialize with other individuals their age and participate in activities that focus on preventing institutionalization and alleviate isolation. In addition to serving as a social center for seniors, this program also provides Adult Day Care services for individuals 60 years and older and younger adults with physical, mental or emotional disabilities. Activities offered at the center include low impact exercise classes, ceramics classes, sewing circle, and field trips. Lunch and transportation to and from the center and to medical appointments are also provided.
