Hair Loss Congress Meets at Annual Meeting to Discuss New Technologies reports For Hair

(EMAILWIRE.COM, December 06, 2012 ) San Francisco, CA -- The International Congress in Aesthetics, Anti-Aging Medicine & Medical Spa (ICAAM Middle East) discussed new technologies and the newest in hair transplant procedures at a recent gathering.

Amongst the most common forms of hair loss within Middle-eastern countries, Androgenetic Alopecia ranks the highest at 50%. Female Androgenetic Alopecia affects 40% of the balding population. Traction alopecia (which is prevalent a month African women) sits at 5%, along with Alopecia areata at the same percentage.

Treatment procedures for hair loss were discussed by Dr. Pierre Bouhanna, who presented the 'Newest hair micrografts techniques for male and female patients.” The talk will be presented at the Latest Techniques session, which takes place at ICAAAM Middle East at the end of each November.

"Hair loss is a major concern amongst many men and women in the Middle East and North Africa region and is a growing phenomenon due to many reasons. This year's lecture at ICAAM Middle East 2012 will cover the essential and state-of-the-art art treatments providing final solutions for hair loss conditions," says Dr. Pierre Bouhanna.

Hair loss affects both genders in the Middle East, and the affliction has many causes. Along with the aforementioned causes are lesser-associated cases like post-radiation therapy for tumors, cicatrical alopecia that are caused by burns, and alopecia that causes a loss of eyebrows, lashes, and mustaches.

The latest advancements in the field are indicated by hair check-ups with a phototrichogram. After indicating the problem, a cause is determined, and and treatment is assigned for the male or female patient.

According to Dr. Bouhanna: "Treatment for various hair loss conditions includes the Follicular Unit Long hair (FUL); a process will hide scabs by the long hair shaft and requires no shaving. It also provides an immediate and better evaluation of the orientation and the angling of the hair shaft during insertion and allows for a greater amount of hair to be transplanted. Another treatment is the Follicular Unit extraction (FUE) which consists of shaving the area and extracting hair with a micropunch. The benefits of this procedure is that it does not cause any linear scar and it works for patients whose balding is not evolving, do not have scalp laxity and who are willing to shave their scalp."

The ICAAM Middle East 2012 was organized by EuroMediCom and Informa Life Sciences Exhibition. The talks are dedicated to all aspects of aesthetic efforts, including anti-aging medicine. A clinical CME-accredited congress program that features 30 international and regional speakers is also presented. The event also includes exhibitions holding the latest products and technologies from across the globe.
